Construction To Begin In Fall For New Journal Star Building

For the first time since Harry Truman was president, reporters for the Journal Star will be writing their stories from a different building. The newsroom and business offices are moving from P Street to smaller space on Q Street to make way for the City Centre project, a new 9-story, $92 million, mixed use building on ā€œPā€ Street between 9th and 10th streets. The Urban Design Committee is expected to review the project in June.

The City Council is expected to review and vote on a redevelopment agreement in July. Developers hope to begin construction this fall. You should be able to go inside by late late 2019 or early 2020.
