A 19-year-old Lincoln man is in jail, accused of having drugs, a gun in his vehicle, while wanted on a warrant and being a possible suspect in a murder case out in Hastings.

Deante Mullen was arrested around 11pm Monday at the Casey’s off of 33rd and Holdrege. UNL Police had been warned about Mullen and found him. Lincoln Police helped out and officers found illegal and prescription drugs and a stolen gun from Kansas in Mullen’s car.

Mullen was arrested for several drug and weapons related charges.

As far as the homicide, Mullen may be connected to the death of 19-year-old Jose Hansen, who was found in an alley early Monday morning in Hastings.

However, Hastings Police have not confirmed if Mullen is connected to that case.  Their investigation continues.
