Cass County Jail Inmate Found Dead

PLATTSMOUTH, Neb. (AP) – Authorities say a 40-year-old inmate was found dead in a Cass County Jail cell. Sheriff William Brueggemann says jail staffers found Dustyn Gandara unresponsive 12 minutes after they had last checked on him Saturday night. Gandara lived in Murdock. Autopsy results are pending. Court records say Gandara had been sentenced to 30 days Friday and fined $500 after pleading guilty to driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol, second offense.
