City Council Presented with Plan for Affordable Housing Near Downtown Lincoln

LINCOLN–(KFOR Sept. 24)–Lincoln City Council members on Monday heard details of a plan for a $39-million affordable housing development near 13th and “D” Streets.

The development will also have health care for those who need it. The new development will include 125 one, two and three-bedroom multi-family units for individuals and families in Lincoln earning no more than 60% of the city’s median income. As for funding, the $39 million project could receive up to $24 million in multi-family housing revenue bonds and more than $2.4 million in TIF funding from the city.

The Lincoln City Council will vote on the project, as well as the funding, at next Monday’s meeting.
