In light of recent recommendations from state leaders and the continued uncertainty regarding the COVID-19 virus, LPS is canceling all student classes and activities from March 22 until further notice. As conditions and recommendations remain fluid, LPS will continue to monitor and evaluate their status every two weeks. > More information
Effective Monday, March 16 all NSAA activity practices are suspended until Monday, March 30 and all NSAA activity competitions are suspended until Thursday, April 2. These suspensions may be extended should the conditions warrant.

The University has canceled classes from March 16-20. After spring break, beginning March 30, all spring semester classes will be taught remotely and will not be taught in-person.

In accordance with the March 12 announcement from the Big Ten Conference, all conference and non-conference athletic competitions through the end of the academic year, including spring sports that compete beyond the academic year, and participation in all NCAA Tournaments and competitions, have been canceled. > More information
Nebraska Athletic Director Bill Moos announced Monday via Husker Sports Network that the Nebraska Husker football scrimmage would not take place April 18.

Nebraska Wesleyan will extend spring break next week (March 16-20) on our Lincoln campus and at our Omaha site to allow the faculty necessary preparation time. At this point we plan to move to distance learning, beginning Monday, March 23 and continue through the end of the semester. Doane University has made the decision to cancel all in-person, face-to-face classes next week (March 16-22) and is extending the current Spring Break of its Crete residential students one additional week. All Crete classes will resume on Monday, March 23 in an online/virtual format and they will be taught online for the remainder of the semester/term. > More information
Southeast Community College is canceling all classes the week of March 16-20. This decision is consistent with the recommended practice of social distancing and the College’s commitment to the health and well-being of its students and employees. Although the College will not be having classes, all College locations will remain open, and services will be available for students. > More information
Based on recommendations from the Southeast District Health Department and the Nebraska Commissioner of Education, public and private schools within Educational Service Unit 4 are extending their closure date through May 1, 2020, with the possibility of closing for the remainder of the 2019-20 school year to help prevent the spread of COVID-19. > More information
YMCA of Lincoln is adapting to adjust operations and has announced that its five branches across the city will be closed beginning at the close of business on Monday, March 16 for a period of at least two weeks (March 16-31). YMCA officials will continue to monitor the community impact of the situation and make decisions about reopening on an ongoing basis.
All YMCA programs, including wellness programs, youth sports, preschools, before & after school programs, and swim lessons, are also suspended until further notice. Participants will be notified via email when a time table is established for these programs to resume. > More information

Lincoln Stars games are postponed until further notice effective immediately. The Stars have suspended the sale of single-game tickets for the 2019-20 season. They will only have flex (usable for any game) tickets available for the remainder of this period or until this situation has been sorted and it is deemed safe to resume play. > More information

The annual Seniors Foundation Keystone Award Luncheon scheduled for May 21st at the Lincoln Country Club has been canceled. The event will be scheduled again for May of 2021. The Senior Foundation board thanks everyone for their continued support of the Seniors Foundation during this pandemic.
