LINCOLN—(KFOR News Sept. 28) At about 9:40 Friday night, UNL Police received a report from a student and sent out a alert to shelter in place after a six-foot tall male in a dark sweater possibly armed with a rifle was spotted near the Dairy Store on UNL’s East Campus. University Communications Public Affairs Director Leslie Reed told KFOR News, numerous police officers from UNL and the Lincoln Police Department responded to the area within minutes.  Multiple teams of four officers thoroughly searched the area, the buildings, the parking lots, the perimeters and reviewed closed circuit tv feeds over the next two hours but did not locate anyone matching the description.  No weapon was recovered and no suspect identified.
