Donations To Community Action’s Gathering Place Will Be Matched $1 For $1 Through Year-End

LINCOLN-(KFOR Oct. 14)-Through December 31, all monetary donations received for Community Action’s Gathering Place – a soup kitchen serving over 29,000 hot, nutritious evening meals to those struggling with hunger in Lincoln – will be matched $1 for $1.

The $1 for $1 donation match is made possible by several generous match sponsors, who have contributed a total of $50,000. These sponsors include lead sponsor, Acklie Charitable Foundation, as well as Miriam Moeller Charitable Trust, INSPRO Insurance, Union Bank & Trust, and Bukaty Companies.

“We are so thankful for the support of our match sponsors. This season, we invite the community to partner with us in support of this important cause,” said Vi See, Executive Director of Community Action. “Over 40,000 people in Lancaster County do not know where their next meal will come from. We hope the community will join our match sponsors in ensuring everyone in Lincoln has access to a hot meal.”

Support from the community is needed to keep pace with the significant demand for hot meals. Community Action’s Gathering Place hopes to receive $50,000 in contributions from the community by December 31, in order to claim the maximum $50,000 committed by its match sponsors.
