LINCOLN–(KFOR Nov. 12)–Family members of a Beatrice resident that passed away recently found 40 World War II munitions in the home last week.
Not knowing if they were live or not, family members called Beatrice Police, who then contacted the Nebraska State Patrol’s Bomb Unit and Nebraska Air National Guard’s 155th E-O-D unit to investigate.
State Patrol spokesperson Cody Thomas tells KFOR News they look like missiles, some about three to four feet tall, but most of them are a foot. Thomas says investigators determined those munitions were inert, or not active.
If you ever come across anything like it could be an explosive and aren’t sure on what to do, Thomas says don’t move it and call 911.
