What: 2022 Native Filmmaker Public Summit

This free event provides an opportunity to meet, learn, understand and talk about today’s Native topics with Native American storytellers in film. Audiences can engage and discuss with Native filmmakers and hear stories on various curated program themes. The event will take place on the University of Nebraska–Lincoln city campus at Nebraska Union and the Johnny Carson Center for Emerging Media Arts.

Native topics offered at the event include traditional ways through food, being language stewards through film, the Native warrior legacies, Natives who influenced Nebraska history and love of storytelling.

Nebraska Public Media and Union Bank and Trust are sponsors for this event. Other funding support provided by the Corporation for Public Broadcasting, Acton Family Giving, Nebraska Arts Council and the Nebraska Cultural Endowment, Lincoln Arts Council, National Endowment for the Arts, Lincoln Community Foundation and Humanities Nebraska and the Nebraska Cultural Endowment.
