When: Friday, October 27th, 7p
Where: First Presbyterian Church, 840 S. 17th St., Lincoln

The Arts for the Soul Music & Fine Arts Series is pleased to announce their annual Sing from the Heart Dessert Concert and Charity Fundraiser will be held on Friday, October 27, 7:00 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church, 840 S. 17th St. in Lincoln. This year’s event is called, “The Power of Words (& Music!),” and will be a unique combination of music and poetry. The First Presbyterian Choir will sing several choral pieces based on poetry by such well-known poets as Robert Frost and Langston Hughes. The special guest for the evening will be Nebraska State Poet Matt Mason, who will talk a bit about some of these poets and texts featured in the choir’s music, and will then also present some of his own poetry.

As in previous seasons, this year’s Sing from the Heart event will also feature a local charity and will take up a freewill donation for them. This year’s featured charity is the ECHO Collective. ECHO Collective connects and empowers refugee and immigrant women by providing opportunities for personal growth and building cross-cultural relationships in a nurturing environment. They help refugee and immigrant women overcome the barriers that they face in rebuilding their lives in the United States. Their entrepreneurship and creative programs focus on sparking connections that surpass language, and their desire is to see every refugee and immigrant confidently call Lincoln “home”.

Concert Tickets are $5 for everyone, except 12 & under are free. Fabulous Desserts included in ticket price!
