Casey Gwinn, the co-author of “Hope Rising: How the Science of Hope Can Change Your Life” will speak at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 28 at First-Plymouth Church at 20th and D Streets in Lincoln. The session is free and open to the public and is co-sponsored by BraveBe Child Advocacy Center and First-Plymouth Church. The talk will be followed by a book signing opportunity.
Gwinn is one of the leading thinkers in the country on the power and science of hope in the lives of adult and child trauma survivors. He trains thousands each year on how to develop a trauma-informed, hope-centered approach in their personal and professional lives. Based on nearly 2,000 studies, Gwinn’s book, “Hope Rising,” provides a roadmap for how to measure hope, address the impact of trauma on wellbeing and apply scientific strategies to increase hope to heal from trauma.
