Fire Damages Back Deck of Northeast Lincoln Home
LINCOLN–(KFOR Sept. 10)–Firefighters got a quick knock down of a deck fire late Tuesday morning behind a home in northeast Lincoln.
It was just before noon when Lincoln Fire and Rescue crews were called to the scene just east of Cotner Boulevard and Adams Street. LFR Battalion Chief Aaron Pospisil told KFOR News at the scene when firefighters arrived, there was light smoke coming from the back. He said water was on the fire within two minutes after arrival.
Pospisil says the fire started on the deck and appears to have not extended into the house. A majority of the large deck has suffered fire damage.
No one was hurt and no one was home at the time of the fire, but neighbors quickly saw smoke and called for help. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
