LINCOLN–(KFOR Nov. 6)–Nebraska’s two Republican U.S. Senators won election on Tuesday.
Pete Ricketts defeated Democratic Challenger Preston Love, Jr to finish out the remaining two years of a six-year term from former Senator Ben Sasse . Deb Fischer was down in her race against Independent challenger Dan Osborn for most of the night, but rallied late to claim victory. Fischer told supporters as she gets back to work, American leadership and commerce are being threatened.
“It’s not the America or the world that I want for my children and grandchildren to grow up in,” Fischer said during her victory speech on Tuesday night. “But we can and we will change the direction of this country.”
