LINCOLN–(KFOR Oct. 18)–There has been at least one other football game this season where No. 5 Lincoln Southeast and an opponent were scoreless until late in the first half.

Sept. 6 in a 28-0 shutout of Lincoln Southwest.  Friday night, while it wasn’t a shutout, it was a 33-point barrage that put the Knights in the winner’s circle with a 40-13 rout of Papillion-LaVista South at Seacrest Field, in a game heard on KFOR.

Running back Nick Halleen led Southeast, who improved to 7-1, with 192 yards rushing and two touchdowns.  His first one game with 2:02 in the second quarter that gave the Knights a 7-0 halftime lead.

Quarterback Shadon Shannon ran the ball three times for 109 yards and scored on a 90-yard touchdown run in the second half.  Isaac Gifford’s 19-yard touchdown run in the third quarter put Southeast up 14-0.  Then a fumble recovery by Reis Jensen set up a Halleen touchdown for a 21-0 lead with 5:48 remaining.

Shannon later found Isaac Appleget on a 16-yard toss to have Southeast go up 27-0.  Papio South then responded with Landon Jewells 14-yard touchdown catch.

In the fourth quarter, the Knights got a pick-six, where Ryan Rediger intercepted a pass and returned it 34-yards.
