FOOTBALL: North Star Picks Up Victory Over Omaha Westview

LINCOLN–(KFOR Sept. 26)–A quick start and tough defensive effort helped the Lincoln North Star football team pick up a 20-0 victory Thursday night over Omaha Westview at Seacrest Field.

The Gators (3-2) forced five turnovers and recovered three fumbles and had two interceptions. The latter of the interceptions was a pick-six by Scott Hoebelheinrich for a touchdown from 60 yards out. North Star’s defense proved to be too much for Westview quarterback Luke Shaffar, who was sacked four times in the game.

North Star opened the game with a 71-yard scoring drive capped by a 20-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Tyrell Chatman to Michael Hunter, Jr. for a 7-0 lead.

Chatman defensively intercepted a Shaffar pass that set up the next Gator non-scoring drive. But he would run for 33-yards to score a touchdown on the following North Star drive to increase the Gator lead to 14-0 right before halftime.

Westview falls to 3-2 on the season.
