Football Preview: Lincoln East
LINCOLN–(KFOR August 15)–Lincoln East’s football team is looking to improve from five-win season a year ago.
The Spartans are also coming off a playoff berth. East has a blend of experience and youth in 2019. Several underclassmen are challenging for key jobs, while the offensive line is mostly secured.
East has five players with starting experience up front, including senior three-sport star Jett Janssen. He also excels in basketball and baseball. Janssen participated in all three sports over the summer.
“We love our multi-sport athletes. It’s kind of a thing that doesn’t exist all the time anymore,” East head coach John Gingery told KFOR’s media partner, 10/11 Sports.
The Spartans open their season Aug. 30 at Lincoln Pius X, which you can hear on the webstream at kfornow.com.
