OMAHA–(KFOR July 9)–Day one of the Nebraska State Amateur Golf Tournament belonged to Jace Guthmiller of Lincoln.

The former Nebraska golfer was at -7 for a 68 first round score at the Country Club of Lincoln on Monday.   Guthmiller had six birdies and an eagle to open up the 111th Nebraska Amateur.

Entering Tuesday, Guthmiller was two strokes ahead of former Bellevue University golfer Fernando Arzate, shooting a 67.  Defending state champ Caleb Badura of Aurora and three-time Class A high school champ and University of Kansas recruit Luke Kluver of Norfolk were tied at 68.

Former Lincoln Southwest and current Creighton golfer Nate Vontz shot a first round 69.
