LINCOLN–(KFOR Nov. 11)–For 21 years, Lincoln veterans have been making the walk from Memorial Stadium to the Veterans Memorial Garden for a Veteran’s Day observance.

Army and Vietnam veteran Frank Delgado told KFOR News on Monday it was an idea he and veteran Gaylen Young created. Delgado says service members have served in all kinds of weather.  Approximately 15 veterans made the walk on Monday with temperatures in the teens and a brisk north wind.

But Delgado wants people to remember one thing about those who serve our country.

“Never forget,” he said.

Delgado added, “recognize all those who have served and survived.”

A Veteran’s Day program was held inside the Auld Recreation Center honoring those who served during times of conflict or at peace time.
