Husker Football Lands Verbal Commit From Missouri Running Back

The Nebraska football team on Wednesday picked up a verbal commitment from highly-touted running back Jamarion Parker out of the St. Louis area. Omaha World Herald Husker beat writer Evan Bland told Hail Varsity Radio for the Husker program to get back into Missouri for recruiting, that could jump start something in the region for Nebraska in the future. Parker is a four-star prospect for the Class of 2025.

SALTDOGS BASEBALL: Lincoln Falls Short Late to Lake Country

The Lincoln Saltdogs pushed it to the limit in the bottom of the ninth but the comeback effort fell short as the Lake Country DockHounds took game two 11-9 on Wednesday night at Haymarket Park. The DockHounds took control early and often with four runs in the top of the first, but the Saltdogs were able to even the score after two innings at four a piece. That was the trend of the game, Lake Country would take the lead, the Saltdogs would counter, but the DockHounds started stringing together multi-run innings while Lincoln would just get one. The Hounds scored in the last three innings to really create separation and INF Luke Roskam made his second appearance on the mound this season in the top of the ninth. The ‘Dogs scored three times in the bottom of the ninth to put the winning run on first base but they fell just short. Final game of the series is Thursday night, with pregame starting at 6:35pm on KFOR.

Andrews Selected in Pro Softball Draft

Former Nebraska softball two-time All-America shortstop Billie Andrews signed a professional contract with Athletes Unlimited Pro Softball, the league announced on Wednesday. Andrews was one of four rookies added to the 42-player roster for the AUX season that begins on June 10 in Wichita.

Larson, Robinson Cook and Wong-Orantes Selected to USA Woman’s Volleyball Team

Three former Nebraska volleyball players have been named to the USA Women’s Volleyball National Team that will represent the country at the Olympic Games Paris 2024 from July 28-Aug. 11. Jordan Larson, Kelsey Robinson Cook and Justine Wong-Orantes will compete for the U.S. Women’s National Team as it looks to follow up on its gold medal from the 2020 Tokyo Games.
