HUSKER VOLLEYBALL: Second-ranked Nebraska bounces back to defeat The Citadel in the Husker Invite
The No. 2 Nebraska volleyball team swept The Citadel on Thursday in three sets in front of more than 8,600 fans at the Devaney Center. Harper Murray had nine kills and 10 digs, and Merritt Beason and Leyla Blackwell added seven kills and four blocks apiece. Nebraska will continue the Husker Invitational with a match against Montana State on Saturday at 2 p.m. The match will be televised on Nebraska Public Media.
COLLEGE VOLLEYBALL: Eleventh-ranked Creighton Defeats No. 20 USC
No. 11 Creighton Volleyball beat No. 20 USC in four sets in front of a nationally-televised audience on Thursday night to begin play at the Creighton Classic in Omaha. Nebraska transfer Ally Batenhorst chipping in with a dozen kills for USC. Creighton was led by Kendra Wait with 43 assists and 12 digs and Norah Sis with 16 kills and 10 digs. The Bluejays now play Kansas State Saturday at 2pm.
