LFR Crews Handle Fire Tuesday Morning Behind NE Lincoln Business
LINCOLN–(KFOR Oct. 1)–Firefighters had some difficulty getting an immediate water source hooked up because of no hydrant on the property of a northeast Lincoln business, where a car compactor caught on fire late Tuesday morning.
LFR spokesperson MJ Lierman tells KFOR News this happened at the U-Pull-It off of 70th and Fletcher. No official cause has been determined and remains under investigation. No damage totals have been determined and no one was hurt.
Lierman says extra engines were called in to help provide 1,200 feet of hose to connect to a hydrant down the street. The compactor is not close to any buildings or structures.
Black smoke could be seen around much of the area, but LFR crews managed to knock it down in a short period of time.
