LINCOLN (KFOR NEWS – 8/14/19) — A 51 year-old Lincoln man was arrested Tuesday after using a wooden dowel to beat his neighbor, sending him to the hospital. Police were called to 32nd and Q Street Tuesday afternoon after they received reports of a man bleeding heavily from his head. When they arrived, the 62 year-old victim reported that his neighbor, 51 year-old Nolan Young, had used a wooden bat to beat him, and that he had escaped the beating by crawling from Young’s home.

Young allowed officers to search his home, and once inside, officers found a broken and bloodied wooden dowel, as well as blood on the floors and walls. Additionally, officers found a trail of blood leading from the front porch out to the front of the house. Young was arrested and charged with Second Degree Assault, as well as Using a Deadly Weapon to Commit a Felony. The victim was taken to the hospital, where he was treated for a broken kneecap, cuts and bruises all over his body, and a gash to the head which required 10 staples.
