Lincoln Public Schools announced Wednesday that Liz Miller has been named the next principal at Dawes Middle School. She follows Angie Plugge, who announced earlier this year she is taking a new position in Waverly, NE.

“We are excited to have Liz Miller serve as the next principal of Dawes Middle School,” said Eric Weber, associate superintendent for Human Resources.  “Her energy, experience and passion for high quality teaching and learning will positively impact Dawes into the future.”

Miller currently serves as assistant principal at Lincoln East High School. She is a Lincoln Northeast High School alum and grew up in northeast Lincoln. After earning her Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, Miller earned her Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from Doane University. Miller was an English teacher in San Antonio, Texas before moving back home to Lincoln.

Miller will begin her new duties at Dawes on July 1.
