LPD Arrests Two Suspects In Connection With Murder of Audrea Craig
Lincoln Police have made two arrests in the near south neighborhood murder of Audrea Craig.
Thursday, Police Chief Jeff Bliemeister told reporters that LPD arrested Rubin Thomas and Jesse Foster, from Linocln, for First Degree Murder.
The two were arrested in connection with the murder at a home at 26th and South. They were identified from video recorded when they dropped 26 year old Martae Green off at Bryan West after a home invasion robbery at Craig’s home.
Bliemeister said that “LPD officers, video analysts, Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office Deptuties responded and processed both crime scenes for forensic and digital evidence, and conducted neighborhood canvases for additional witnesses and digital surveillance. With the combination of our professional personnel, we were able to identify the suspects, their vehicles, and track their movement before and after the homicide.”
With the evidence collected, Bliemeister said they were able to confirm Thomas’s and Foster’s presence at Craig’s residence and at the hospital.
“Video surveillance shows that Green forced entry into the home with a handgun. During the attempted robbery, Craig armed herself and shot Green,” Bliemeister explained.
Bliemeister did not reveal additional details of the role played by Thomas and Foster in either the robbery or the shootings.
