LPD, FBI Omaha Partnering for Recruitment Day Toward 30 By 30 Initiative
LINCOLN–(KFOR Aug. 21)–Lincoln Police are partnering with the FBI Omaha office in holding a recruitment day September 4 at the Auld Pavillion inside Antelope Park.
LPD Chief Michon Morrow says it’s part of the 30 by 30 initiative, which is a national pledge to increase the number of women serving in law enforcement recruit academies to 30% by 2030. Fifteen percent of the 350 commissioned Lincoln Police Department’s officers and recruits are female. That’s 53 women.
Morrow says LPD is committed to that initiative and want to increase the number of women serving in law enforcement. During the recruitment day, there will be displays and panel discussions, plus an opportunity for attendees to have questions answered about serving in law enforcement.
