LINCOLN–(KFOR Sept. 25)–Of the three finalists for a research brief contest from the American Society of Evidence-based Policing is the Lincoln Police Department.

Their focus is on how important of a role crime analysts have helping law enforcement agencies evaluate policies and practices. Officer Luke Bonkiewicz says they created a video, along with a written paper to submit.

“LPD is asking for the public’s vote to help us win this contest,” Bonkiewicz added.

Bonkiewicz says a winner should be announced by Oct. 1.  If LPD wins, the $1,250 prize money would be donated to the Malone Community Center’s after school robotics club.
