Mother Of Hit and Run Driver Arrested For Tampering Of Evidence

The mother of 21-year-old Casey Maxfield, who is facing charges in a deadly hit and run at 10th and South on October 18, has been arrested for tampering with evidence. 50-year old Kimberly Cowell was arrested after she reportedly helped 21-year old daughter hide a vehicle after police say she hit and killed 41-year-old Tina Mortensen. Mortensen died at 10th and South at the scene. According to a sworn statement, Cowell helped Maxfield dump the vehicle involved in the crime into Salt Creek near 70th and Cornhusker Highway.
