LINCOLN–(KFOR May 6)–The National Weather Service Valley office confirmed Monday afternoon that a low-end EF-2 tornado touched down in west Lincoln on Sunday evening.

Wind speeds from the twister were around 120 mph and its path was for half-a-mile, doing damage along areas close to South Coddington Avenue, from the West “A” Street area down to West Van Dorn Street, in the Pioneers Park area.

The storm survey says the tornado’s width was 200 yards, damaging homes, sheds, the C & L Dairy Sweet ice cream stand, and snapped trees along the narrow path.

Meanwhile, the storm produced widespread wind damage in other areas of west Lincoln.
