LINCOLN–(KFOR Sept. 25)–Lincoln Police say a 30-year-old man was arrested early Wednesday morning for obstructing a peace officer and second offense DUI, after an officer got hurt while putting him in the back of a cruiser following a traffic stop at Touzalin Avenue and Fremont Street.

Investigators say that officers initially responded to an alarm call at the Kwik Shop at the same location, which turned out to be false, but they saw Adam Schmidt’s vehicle and saw what appeared to be fictitious plates and a suspected DUI.

Police say when Schmidt got combative and uncooperative, the officer’s pinky finger got caught up in some clothing, causing the fracture. Schmidt also refused a blood-alcohol test.
