LINCOLN–(KFOR June 18)–Police arrested a 55-year-old man riding his bike against traffic early Monday morning near 10th and South.

According to police, investigators saw Michael Hawkins allegedly make what’s believed to be a hand-to-hand drug deal.  Officers tried to detain Hawkins, he threw down the bike and took off running.

Hawkins was eventually found near 9th and South Streets, where police found a glass pipe with meth residue and also determined Hawkins was riding a stolen bike worth around $800, which was reported stolen through LPD’s online reporting system.

Police arrested Hawkins for possession of a controlled substance, theft and obstructing an officer.
