LINCOLN–(KFOR Nov. 5)–Lincoln Police want you to lock your vehicles after six cars have been stolen since Monday, and all but one were unlocked with keys inside.

On Tuesday, Lincoln Police said the cars were stolen from different parts of town, including 28th and Tierra Drive, 1800 block of Ridgehaven Court (78th and Lexington area), 1200 block of South 13th Street, 1900 block of SW 27th Street, 61st and Vine Street, and 17th and A Street.  Three of the cars have been found.

Police also said all but one of the stolen vehicles was left unlocked with the keys inside, and half of them were left running to warm up.  The six stolen cars increases the number car thefts  up to 10 so far in November.

Going back to October 15, there have been 27 vehicle thefts in Lincoln.  If you have intentions of warming up your car during the cold weather months, police suggest getting a remote car starter, which doesn’t require a key in the ignition.
