SALTDOGS BASEBALL: Lincoln’s Four-Game Win Streak Ends At The Hands of Cleburne

CLEBURNE, Texas – (June 25)–Jake Hohensee tossed three scoreless innings and struck out five, but the ‘Dogs couldn’t overcome a big, early deficit and a four-game winning streak came to an end in a 7-4 loss to the Cleburne Railroaders at The Depot on Tuesday night.

Hohensee worked a scoreless 6th, 7th and 8th innings after Tyson Cronin tossed a scoreless 5th inning. Nick Tepesch gave up seven runs over four innings and lost his fourth consecutive start after winning his first four.

The Railroaders scored the game’s first run on a double steal in the 1st inning before adding three more in the 2nd.

The ‘Dogs scored their first run of the game when Christian Ibarra scored his first of three runs on a wild pitch. Cleburne plated three more in the 4th to make it 7-1, but Curt Smith added an RBI single in the 5th before both Ibarra and Cody Regis clubbed solo homers in the 7th to make it 7-4.

Curt Smith had his club-best 17th multi-hit game of the year, while Cody Regis’s solo homer was his third over the last two games. Randolph Oduber had his fourth three-hit game of the year, and Ibarra tied the team high with his three-run game.

Tyler Moore also had a single, double and walked in the game – and his average on the road now sits above .300 for the year.

The ‘’Dogs season-best four-game winning streak came to an end and Lincoln fell to 8-12 on the road in 2019.

Game 2 of the three-game series is scheduled for 7:06 p.m. on Wednesday night, and pregame coverage will begin at 6:35 p.m. on ESPN Lincoln 101.5 FM/1480 AM.
