LINCOLN–(KFOR Aug. 1)–Lancaster County is proposing a $199 million budget for the next fiscal year…that’s $8 million more than the last fiscal year.

County Engineer Pam Dingman asked for a $4 million increase in her budget to open bridges and repair roads. She’s getting $1 million. Dingman says that will only repair and replace one bridge.

County Board chair Roma Amundson told KFOR NEWS she is proposing a property tax levy increase of .75% AND a wheel tax of $74 per vehicle, potentially generating $12 million, which would go toward infrastructure repair.
