(KFOR NEWS  September 3, 2019)  About 45 people stranded on a stalled tram 40 feet above the Nebraska State Fair have been rescued.  The Omaha World-Herald reports that riders were stuck on the ride for about an hour Sunday night.  State Fair safety consultant Ed LaSalle watched the rescue. He says high-reach devices with fenced platforms were extended up to the tram cars. State Fair workers then helped load up passengers to be taken down.  LaSalle says no one was at risk of falling. He says there was an issue with the tram’s hydraulic drive system that caused it to stall mid-air.  LaSalle says the tram is under repair Monday. That’s the last day of the fair.
