Sunday Night Crash Results in Citations and Arrest for DUI

LINCOLN–(KFOR May 20)–Two men have been cited for willful reckless driving after a two-vehicle crash Sunday night at 48th and “J” Streets.

Lincoln Police Lt. Brian Agnew tells KFOR News it was around 8:30 when they got a call about a vehicle fire and when officers arrived they found one vehicle hit a tree and one was on its side. Three homes suffered damage after debris from the vehicles hit them. Lt. Agnew says both vehicles were northbound on 48th Street, apparently at a high-rate of speed, when one vehicle tried to pass the other.

Agnew says 40-year-old Joseph Cogley was also arrested for DUI causing serious injury. Both Cogley and the 23-year-old driver from Lincoln suffered non life-threatening injuries.
