Teen Wounded During Shooting at Omaha Northwest High School

OMAHA–(KFOR Sept. 10)–Omaha Police confirm that a 15-year-old student was critically wounded after a shooting early Tuesday afternoon at Omaha Northwest High School.

An OPD spokesperson said a school resource officer reported the shooting shortly before 12:30pm and the school went into lockdown. About a half-hour later, a suspect believed to be a student was taken into custody after a foot pursuit in a neighborhood near the school. It was soon after that OPD said there wasn’t any more public safety threat.

Students were released for the day to their families. It’s unclear how the suspect obtained a gun.
