Three People Injured Following Tuesday Morning Disturbance at NE Lincoln Home

LINCOLN–(KFOR Sept. 17)–Three people were hospitalized late Tuesday morning, following a disturbance at a northeast Lincoln home.

Police were called to the area south of 65th and Adams, where an argument happened about access to a home by renters. Lt. Jason Goodwin tells KFOR News officers determined that 29-year-old Melodye Smith of Lincoln tried to get inside the home by punching a window several times. Shattered flying glass caused a severe laceration to the wrist of a 23-year-old woman, where a tourniquet was used to stop the bleeding. She was taken to a hospital for treatment of the non life-threatening injury.

A 24-year-old Lincoln man was taken to the hospital for cuts to his feet. Lt. Goodwin says Smith suffered cuts to an arm from the glass and remains hospitalized. Smith is expected to be ticketed for 3rd degree assault, once she’s released.
