Lincoln Police arrested a 35-year-old woman for her alleged involvement in an attempted burglary at an apartment near 10th and “E” Monday morning.

A 51-year-old woman was sleeping when she heard scratching noises, thought to have been from her cat. Turns out, when she woke up, she found three people inside and scared them away.

One of the suspects, 35-year-old Holly Rumery, was found hiding in another part of the building and arrested for first-degree criminal trespass.

Rumery and two other suspects somehow got inside the apartment by cutting a hole in the drywall separating the victim’s apartment and a laundry area.

Nothing was taken.
