When: April 13th starting at 9a
Where: Hamann Rose Garden, just southeast of the South 27th street and Capitol Parkway intersection and west of the Lincoln Children’s Zoo. Volunteers should park in the lost east of the garden.

The Parks and Recreation Department invites residents to volunteer for a rose garden maintenance project Saturday, April 13. Volunteers should arrive at 9 a.m. at the Hamann Rose Garden, just southeast of the South 27th Street and Capitol Parkway intersection and west of the Lincoln Children’s Zoo. Volunteers should park in the lot just east of the garden.

Staff from the Public Gardens Section and the Lincoln Rose Society will teach volunteers spring pruning and maintenance techniques for various types of roses, how to plant new roses, and how to maintain and sharpen tools. The length of the project will depend on the number of participants. There is no limitation to the number of volunteers at this event.

Volunteers are asked to wear appropriate gardening clothing and bring pruners, loppers, and leather gloves. A limited number of tools will be available onsite.
