LINCOLN–(KFOR Oct. 2)–Some new details in Sunday night’s homicide in north Lincoln that claimed the life of a Northeast High School student.

An autopsy shows that 15-year-old Ali Al-Burkat died from a single gunshot wound to the back.   The bullet has been sent off to the state crime lab for analysis.

KFOR News asked Police Chief Jeff Bliemeister on why Al-Burkat and the other two teens were in the area of 7th and Fletcher around the time the shooting happened.

“That information is something that we’ve been working on with friends and family,” Bliemeister said.  “We are in the process and have begun establishing a time line of events.”

Bliemeister says there are no suspects and they are still looking at whether this shooting was random or targeted.
