LINCOLN–(KFOR Oct. 2)–A 60-year-old man is in jail, accused of assaulting two police officers called out to the People’s City Mission on Tuesday night.

Lincoln Police tell us the two officers took Russell Lehl into protective custody because is he was drunk and allegedly threatening people at the mission. Lehl was taken to detox, where he got combative with the two officers, punching one of them in the face and kicking the other in the knee.

Lehl was arrested on two felony counts of assaulting a police officer and resisting arrest.

The officers were okay and returned to work.
