BNSF Reportedly Layoff Nearly 40 Workers in Nebraska

LINCOLN–(KFOR/KOLN-KGIN Feb. 28)–There are reports that dozens of BNSF Railroad workers in Nebraska have been laid off, but the company won’t confirm exactly how many are out of a job.

According to KFOR’s media partner, 10/11 News, close to 40 workers were let go at the Havelock shops and layoffs also happened at the West “O” Street yard. There were also reports that layoffs happened in Alliance.

A spokesperson for BNSF said several locations do not have enough work to justify the current number of employees and those that have been laid off have been offered work at other BNSF locations that need extra workers.
