Case of West Nile Confirmed

The State Department of Health and Human Services has confirmed a woman in Nebraska has died of West Nile virus.
It’s the first case of West Nile in Nebraska this year. It was reported in May and was in North Central Nebraska. The woman was between 25 and 50 years old but her identity was not made public.
DHHS said she had an underlying medical condition, which made her more likely to experience serious consequences.
