UPDATE: Suspect Taken into Custody Following Deadly Saturday Night Shooting Near Downtown Lincoln

(KFOR News – Mar. 22)   UPDATE:  Additional information about Lincoln’s 2nd homicide of 2021 is expected to be released later today (Monday).

Lincoln Police responded to a disturbance call Saturday evening at an apartment building in the 900 block of E Street shortly after 8 p.m. Saturday, finding a 76 year old victim with a gunshot wound.

Sunday morning, LPD announced a 52 year old man went to jail as a suspect.

Officers were called to an apartment on the 900 block of “E” Street shortly after 8 p.m. where they found a 76-year-old man deceased from apparent gunshot wounds. The victim’s name is currently being withheld, pending notification of his next of kin.

LPD says that a suspect has been taken into custody, and that there is no ongoing threat to the public. Investigators are continuing to process the scene for evidence.
