The Caregiver Education Group sponsors meetings for caregivers held the fourth Tuesday of each month at 1:30pm CT. The meetings are being held at Walt Library, 6701 South 14th Street here in Lincoln, this January, February, March, April and May. The rooms are very accessible and parking is available. The June and July meetings will be held at Eastmont Living, 6315 O Street, Lincoln. The presentation begins at 1:30pm CT. There is always time allowed for discussion and sharing after the presentation. Everyone is welcome to attend. You do NOT need to register.
The presentation for February 28th will be given by Cady Belli, physical therapist assistant at Eastmont. It is entitled Caregiving – how does it affect you? Cady will talk about the mental and physical side effects of caregiving along with teaching self-care tips to enable you to better care for yourself while caregiving for another. She will lead us in a gentle exercise to practice at home. She will also have a handout. We will bring folders of resource information provided by the members of the Group to be distributed. This is invaluable information not only for family caregivers but also for family members, pastors/church members, friends and neighbors as well as professional care providers.
