HUSKER FOOTBALL: Where Do We Go From Here?

The Huskers are looking to bounce back after a 41-point loss to No. 4 Ohio State last Saturday night. Nebraska football coach Scott Frost says his team is focusing on the future and learning from past mistakes.

“We had a great practice this morning. The guys are excited,” said Frost after practice Monday. “We need to be focused on this week and concentrating on practicing as well as we can to get ready for this game.”

Sophomore quarterback Adrian Martinez threw 3 interceptions in Saturday’s loss, but Coach Frost says Martinez played as well as he could against one of the top teams in the nation. He says that Martinez is a tough competitor, and will put in the work to improve from his mistakes.

Frost also answered criticism about the offensive line during Monday’s press conference. He says the front line did a good job blocking for the run game, but needs to do better on passing plays.

“We need to keep getting a little more movement in the run game and keep giving Adrian a little more time so he feels comfortable in the pocket,” said Frost. “At times we’ve looked really good, at others it hasn’t been up to our standards so it’s just a matter of going to work and continuing to improve.”

Nebraska faces Northwestern this Saturday at 3 o’clock on Fox. Frost says the Wildcats have a strong, disciplined defense that helps them fight in close games. Frost believes his team will respond well to the pressure this weekend.
