Lincoln Man Accused of Hitting Another Man With Walking Stick

LINCOLN–(KFOR August 22)–A 62-year-old Lincoln man was arrested for allegedly hitting another man with his walking tick on Tuesday evening (Aug. 20).
Police say the victim said Billy Joe Williams hit him with the stick near 12th and “E” Streets. One witness told police Williams hit a car mirror with the stick, then hit the victim in the back.
Officer Angela Sands said the victim had a 12-inch welt on his lower back. Police found Williams about a block away, where he started to run. Williams was caught and arrested for 3rd-degree assault, vandalism and failure to comply with the lawful order of a police officer.
