State Tax Revenue Higher than Expected in January

The Nebraska Department of Revenue says the state in January received net taxes of $468 million, more than 13% above the official state forecast.

The increase was driven by sharply higher sales-and-use tax revenue, offsetting lower-than-expected individual and corporate income taxes and miscellaneous taxes.

For the fiscal year that began July 1st, the state has collected $23 million more in taxes than expected.
