Work On Rock Island Trail Will Force Temporary Closures On Sheridan Boulevard

LINCOLN–(News Release July 15)–Sheridan Boulevard, from South 31st to 33rd streets, will be closed Monday, July 15 and Wednesday, July 17 during repairs to the Rock Island Trail below the Penny Bridges. Digital signs will alert traffic to upcoming work and lane closures. Drivers are encouraged to seek an alternate route.

Closures will occur from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. as follows:

Tuesday, July 16 – westbound lanes. The sidewalk on the north side of Sheridan Boulevard will also be closed.
Wednesday, July 17 – eastbound lanes. The sidewalk on the south side of Sheridan Boulevard will also be closed.

Drivers are reminded to exercise caution around work zones. Lincoln Transportation and Utilities appreciates the public’s patience during this repair.
