UPDATE:  Improperly Discarded Smoking Material Suspected of Starting $200,000 Fire

(KFOR NEWS  October 11, 2022)  10/11 NOW –  Lincoln Fire & Rescue responded to the report of a deck on fire at the Antelope Gardens Apartments, 4141 Normal Blvd just after 11 pm on October 10th, 2022.

The first fire crews arrived to find heavy fire from a third story deck with the fire extending into the eaves of the building.  Occupants were standing outside when LF&R arrived.  The fire was quickly knocked down from the exterior and then completely extinguished from inside the apartment.

No injuries reported.  The cause of the fire determined by Inspector Crocker, to be a cigarette improperly discarded.  Damage to the structure is estimated at $200,000 and $50,000 to contents of the apartment.
